Breaking News: Thank you to everyone who spoke tonight in support of the City of San Marcos ordinance to prohibit the retail sales of puppies, kittens, and bunnies. Update on CrowdRise fundraiser.
As of today we are over $1,100 toward our goal of $5,000 through our CrowdRise fundraiser! This is great news. Thank you all that have contributed and shared the fundraising page. As the Easter season approaches more rabbits will be sold as pets and later abandoned when the novelty and interest wains. Help to spread the word of the campaign to put up billboard messages to bring awareness of rabbit abandonment.

Once, the community college south of Los Angeles teemed with hundreds of abandoned pet rabbits and their offspring. Dropping them off on campus had become a misguided local tradition dating back 30 years or more, says Jacque Olson, an administrative assistant for the dean of physical education and athletics.
